Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Trendy Dumpling at (713) 750-9398; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is trendydumpling.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Houston is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Houston follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Wow wow wow. Everything was so delicious. The inside is very nice and the staff is quick and friendly. Everything came out so hot and fresh. We got a little carried away and tried a lot. I got the beef noodle soup with diang noodles, stir fried green beans, walnut shrimp, crystal shrimp dumplings, soup bao dumplings. Some cheese puffs and eggrolls. The beef in the soup was so tender, the broth extremely flavorful. I can't wait to try again.

The food at this place is SO good! The dumplings are incredibly flavorful, and the fried rice is honestly the best I’ve ever tried. I definitely recommend stopping by if you’re looking for a great spot to eat. Such a great place to visit you won’t regret it! ✨

What a phenomenal restaurant. It is aesthetically pleasing inside with a dim lighted ambiance. There’s some nice murals of their culture. Of course the star of the show is the food. Handmade dumplings and noodles. Rich beef broth, tasty duck, that’ll have the Aflac duck hiding. If you haven’t been here then you are missing out on some good authentic dishes. The service is amazing with the staff working hard with smiles to get your food ready.

Service was fine. I kind of did not like the location of the place it’s like off to the side of the freeway. Traffic can get busy. Atmosphere was like a cozy restaurant. They had this really cool see through window where you can watch them make the homemade noodles. Went there to try their dumplings but they had other things on their menu as well. I think the dumplings were alright. The soup bao was my favorite. The soup held well in the bao. The flavor all stayed inside as well. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hot and spicy dumpling was drenched in the chili oil but I didn’t really feel like there was a lot of flavor. Rating: ⭐️⭐️ Crispy bottom bao I guess this tasted more like a pastry and was savory. Rating: ⭐️ Tried the sparkling lychee bubble tea which was obviously a mistake as bubble tea is not their strong suit so I won’t even rate this but I wouldn’t order it again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really glad we found Trendy Dumpling. We ordered the pan-fried bao, flat noodles, crispy bottom bao, and soup dumplings, and everything was very enjoyable. The bao had great texture, especially the crispy bottoms, and the soup dumplings were flavorful and satisfying. The flat noodles were comforting and well seasoned. Service was smooth, the atmosphere was casual and inviting, and parking was okay, which made the visit easy. Overall, a solid experience and definitely a place I’d come back to when craving dumplings.
